Pasco County: Car Crash Resulting in Fire Leaves 3 Dead

In Hudson, Florida: Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a car crash that happened Tuesday January 26th at 9:31pm, at the intersection of Denton Avenue and Matis Road. Florida Highway Patrol reported a Sedan was travelling west on Denton Ave “at a high rate of speed.” after the vehicle left the road, they lost control and ended up crashing into the guardrail while overturning multiple times. The passengers were a 19-year-old man from Port Richey and an 18-year-old female from Hudson, who were both ejected from the vehicle. The driver, a 26-year-old male was trapped in the vehicle as it caught on fire minutes later. The passengers were not wearing seatbelts according to FHP. FHP later reported that the 3 occupants of the crash suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The names of the victims were later released, the names were Nico MoccaldiCarlene Frith, and Danny Higgins. On Wednesday, the 28th, many of the victim’s friends and family payed their respects at the crash site, Moccaldi’s friend Anthony Irvine did a short interview with News Channel 8, “He’s always smiling, always happy,” I am trying not to tear up, but he is always, he is one of the people that makes you happy. If you are down on the ground, he’ll lift you up.” Frith’s cousin, Jacob Prats said to News Channel 8, “Carlene was loyal. She was respectful and people that she loved. Those were the people that she was loyal to.”
