95 People Arrested in Sarasota Drug and Guns Operation

October 22nd, 2019 Sarasota Police Department and other law enforcement agencies arrested 95 people in connection of an operation “surge”. There was a total of 109 suspects, that were involved with illegal possession or sale of firearms and/or illegal narcotics. Out of the 109 suspected, a 108 had over 10 charges of felony convictions. In total there were 2,561 previous charges combined, with a total of 687 felony convictions. The Grand Jury indicted 6 people and are being put in the judicial system. One was given no persecution for completing the Drug Market Intervention Program. The surge happened between January and September of 2019. According to police, 11 people are still at large and wanted for felony charges.
